What led you to working at EDAG Group?

I am currently a second-year student at Georgia Tech, so I started working at EDAG Group during the summer after finishing my first year of school. I spent the year trying to find internship opportunities that would allow me to see how the knowledge I gained throughout my courses could be applied in the real world, and I had the opportunity to do a mock-interview with the previous director of Human Resources at EDAG Group through the Georgia Tech Career Center. During our conversation I got to learn more about the exciting innovation happening at EDAG Group and I was encouraged to apply to the Electrical Engineering Intern position. I then interviewed with our Director of Electrical Engineering, Tobias Behrend, and the rest is history.

What has been your favorite part about your internship with EDAG Group?

Because so much is happening in our E/E Department at EDAG Group there is no time to waste. While other companies assign intern-specific projects and tasks I have always worked alongside our full-time engineers on customer projects. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our customer confidentiality, I don’t know that I can go into much detail regarding the exact work I did, but I can say that I was able to work with and meet directly with one of our biggest customers. Not only did this provide a more valuable learning experience for me, but I was also able to directly see the impact my work had for the rest of our team and our customers themselves, and that feeling of accomplishment is my favorite part about working at EDAG Group.

What does your typical workday look like?

Currently, I am a remote, part-time intern at EDAG Group while I take classes and continue to pursue my degree at Georgia Tech. I usually have at least one meeting with other EDAG Group employees (and sometimes customers) each day, which can include a regular intern sync, department meeting, or individual project meeting. So, a typical workday will include attending 2-3 classes on-campus with meetings either before, after, or in-between those classes, as well as individual, asynchronous work.

What are some of your hobbies / what do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I spend the majority of my time doing schoolwork, but I still try to find time for hobbies outside of both of those. My main hobbies include playing recreational sports such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, and racquetball and traveling. I am lucky to have traveled to 3 continents, 7 countries, and 43 different states in my lifetime.

What led you to working at EDAG Group?

EDAG's reputation as a dynamic consulting group instantly drew me in. The prospect of tackling diverse projects across various fields felt like a playground for my curiosity. I thrive in environments where I can constantly learn and stretch my skills, and EDAG Group seemed like perfect for growth. Collaborating with teams on multiple projects would not only push me, but also allow me to contribute my unique strengths. Knowing that I can rely on supportive colleagues to share the workload and celebrate successes makes EDAG Group the ideal place for me to thrive and leave my mark.

What has been your favorite part about your internship with EDAG Group?

My internship at EDAG Group has been a rewarding journey of professional growth and collaborative learning. Working alongside a team of engineers, I've been immersed in diverse projects exposing me to a broad spectrum of technical challenges and best practices. Each project served as a steppingstone, expanding my knowledge base in areas like project management. The collaborative environment fostered by EDAG Group encourages knowledge sharing and peer support, enabling me to tackle complex tasks efficiently and effectively. This internship has been instrumental in refining my technical skills, enhancing my project management abilities, and solidifying my passion for engineering. What does your typical workday look like?

First when I come into the office, I check my calendar to set my priorities and check for important reminders or meetings that I may have that day. Of course, I say hello and have a quick chat with the other Electrical Engineering Team members before getting to work. I always work with intentionality, so I put away anything that is distracting so I can work on my tasks with the best focus possible. I prioritize my tasks to ensure that I complete everything that needs to be done each day. Usually, around noon I take my lunch break, my favorite place to eat near the office is Jimmy John’s. The rest of my day is filled with more independent work, collaboration where needed on projects, and setting my priorities for the following workday.

What are some of your hobbies / what do you do outside of work?

When I'm not working, I'm usually bouncing between the gym, the driving range, and the basketball court. Growing up I would always default to golf or basketball whenever I’m feeling stressed or if I am trying to have some fun.

Title: Marketing Intern

What led you to working at EDAG Group?

I found out about EDAG Group and the marketing internship opportunity through Handshake, a job seeking platform provided by my university. I have had previous experience working in the automotive industry in a sales role and enjoyed my experience, since automotive is a cornerstone to living in Michigan, especially the Metro-Detroit area. I really enjoy getting a wide range of experience which had led me to branch out to a marketing role. I am very grateful that EDAG Group has given me the opportunity to leverage my knowledge from classes and past experiences to help expand the marketing efforts in the United States.

What has been your favorite part about your internship with EDAG Group?

I have really enjoyed the pace of my internship; I have been able to get a great deal of exposure in such a short period of time. In the first month of my internship, I was able to attend career fairs all over Michigan and even one at the University of Georgia! I have also been able to take on many marketing responsibilities like running a monthly marketing meeting for our United States team and directors. I have also enjoyed working across various teams both in our Troy, Michigan office and on a global level as well. Being able to network and collaborate with many professionals has given me a wide variety of knowledge that ranges from ideas to implement in our local office to engineering concepts I otherwise would not have had exposure to.

What does your typical workday look like?

One of the things I enjoy about EDAG Group is the variety in my work, no day really looks the same. I come into our Troy office on days that I am not in class, I enjoy being in person as it helps foster a collaborative environment. To start the day, I open my Outlook and Teams and respond to any messages that have come in. After responding to those messages, I look at our content plan to see what needs my immediate attention so that posts and website articles can go up on time, I spend a large part of my day writing posts and preparing them for publishing on Hootsuite. I usually communicate with our German marketing team throughout the day as well. I also take time to assess various web and social media analytics. I also run our office monthly contests!

What are some of your hobbies / what do you do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking, swimming, and paddleboarding in the summertime. In the fall, I always like to find time to watch the Detroit Lions and Michigan Wolverines play American Football. When time allows, I love to travel and explore new places! I also enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with my family.
